I bet we’re 1 generation away from cheap “clones” with (pure) Linux on them.
What do people need? A A57 octo core, 8GB RAM, 256/512GB storage, and a 100€ screen…
Throw in the usual stuff (sim, gps/galileo, wifi, bt) plus maybe a card reader, swappable batteries, audio jack for us nerds out there and the craze can be done with.
300€ from china (made in eu/us for 1100€ coming next decade)…
Good or bad, I see it coming! (Just after the linux desktop 😁?)

In the title of this post for starters, but even if it’s true, the post is just ragebait crap.

The video also was shit, you won’t scan that book when you cut that much off. I bet the video has absolutely nothing to do with it all, as it seems to be not at all recycling, but cutting books. Cutting books needs those expensive machines in the video (you use that when making books), not to pulp stuff.

Any examples of those rare books?
Edit: of course not, what an absolute shit article. “If you don’t dislike trashing a book you’re a bad person!!!” Basically. What an ignorant idea. The article linked in the first “article” (the first contains 0 information) isn’t much better, large companies buy books nobody wants, scans them and discards them.
Guess what librarians worldwide do? Well they don’t scan the books before sending them for recycling.
So an overly emotional trash headline to generate that sweet anger and engagement IMO.

Windows have always had a shitty different net stack, if it’s based on BSD it’s truly amazing how they took a perfect thing and broke it.

Why would they, it’s just not allowed. And you can sure do.
Do you even program?

Oh, one of those entitled people.
No I’m not discussing your “reasonings” about a “plain assertion”, because:
A) they do what they want with their thing, it’s not for you to decide anything.
B) you just come down as a twat.

We’re not talking about bad code, we’re talking about slop code. It’s different. It’s easy just to generate slop code, it is not so easy to code all by yourself.

They are honest and say what they are doing, go make your own free git hub with crypto and LLM?

Where were you during the nineties and early 2000?
Man were there brutal unjust lawsuits that broke people. Remember that 11 yo girl vs Madonna? The Pirate Bay? And so on.

How do you back up your git repos? Do you do that automatically through Forgejo or do you count on other members having the git repo updated?
Sorry for the off tangent question!

Well I left github because of “feels”, reddit too.
I think slop-code & crypto can go there if they want, what are your “feelings” about that?
