edit: too long of a reply, nobody cares as much as I wrote. Thank you for feedback. I humbly disagree, but appreciated anyway.

Truth is not patronizing, mate¹. And it was quite gently stated. I certainly didn’t state that a awful lot of Lemmy users are idiots, but they are. Thread after thread spouting stupid shit that if they bothered to even read the article, they wouldn’t say.
I have my share of stupidity. I do strive to constantly learn.
It’s like when you see a movie or tv show that touches on whatever area of expertise you have and you see how stupid they are about it. “That’s not how that works! That’s not even close!” - like if you watch any sort of courtroom streams on youtube, shows that take place in courtrooms become irritating because of how completely wrong they get extremely basic things.
So in phrasing it the way I did, I was being quite polite about it.
You can have whatever opinion you’d like, of course.
I’m glad we agree on the testing part, at least. heh. But I do humbly disagree strongly about being patronizing. I wasn’t. At most, I’d say that text is a difficult medium, and I certainly misunderstand others a decent amount, so I would opine that you read it that way, but it wasn’t written or meant that way.
And the only reason for this reply is that I do actually care. I already stated it that way in an attempt to not call people idiots. lol
But even while I disagree, I always try to take feedback on and process it and bear it in mind.
¹ the barest tiniest bit of sarcasm meant, but 99% silliness because as a USian, saying ‘mate’ is fun. :)
