I remember Google coming out and changing everything.
It had billions of pages instead of millions.
It returned results in seconds, and by seconds I mean 2-3, not 60.
Everything else became irrelevant overnight.
Now Google search is shit.
It is, but in fairness all the sites doing SEO broke it just as much as their infinite chase for advertiser money.
And now AI is here to break it even further.
