By selectively dimming the area that is shining towards other cars. That’s the definition of matrix headlights, they are not any brighter than regular headlights

Oh, I see. I actually hadn’t heard that term before. I googled “matrix headlights” and what I got was a brand selling aftermarket bright headlights. So I assumed that’s what we were talking about.
