that does not sound like someone in IT. Granted many of my roles it seemed like they were constantly pushing bussness and management bs on you so maybe. thos things did make me the most depressed with my job activities.
It can certainly be someone working in tech, in particular a startup founder.
the idea that a startup founder would be a good example of a typical tech person??? Its like the founder of a plumbing company as a typical plumber.

it’s a bit different: usually founders are in as much bullshit constraint as the workers. The power is all in the investors and the founders are just the boss clowns. The vast majority of them will fail, by design, leaving them burned out. They are not in the same position of workers materially, but psychologically they are not that far from a worker that wholeheartedly embraces the company mission and burns out because of the circus.
