Maybe not directly related to young age, but incompetence in problem solving is growing. This could be COVID era fallout.
My kid is a teacher and the newer generation of kids can’t do anything by themselves without explicit direction. They dont know how to help themselves. They have no life learned skill or curiosity, as they possible just were fed screen time as a babysitter.

This sounds a lot like gripes that older generations have always had about younger generations.

This has been going on for generations. The world used to be a much more dyi, less prepackaged place. Each generation does less and less for themselves. I see the difference between my father’s generation and my own as well as between my generation and later ones. Shit, my grandfather built his own fucking house.
