It’s worth noting that the #fairplayer and #mirlo integration isn’t a one-off thing between the two platforms - it’s the first large-scale test of the Canimus protocol! It’s been pretty successful and is what has informed the next revision of the protocol, which is now called Chorus. Want to help guide its future? Join in at https://github.com/PlaidWeb/Chorus

Reading @j-g00da's comics via @jn's zine viewer on Uxn. Fits the medium like a glove.

my GrapheneOS (Pixel 8) has started to randomly crash pretty hard. I thought it was from some experimental vibe coded app I tried so I uninstalled that and it seemed better for most of the day and now it just crashed again. Any experience with looking thru logs on Android to figure out what is causing it?

@semilanceata it's pretty easy you just pry off the plastic end with a pliers. Just have to take your time with them and not yank all the way since usually the battery wires are connected to the mouthpiece

this is a great feature we should totally steal for the fediverse. also has the potential for many interesting puns to be spoken outloud for people who are more anon with their identity

An interesting read on the physical manufacturing reasons that e-paper displays are still consolidated, and still expensive, even though the original patent has expired.
Via @modos, who has a vested interest in the market (and shows up in the article)

If you like HyperCard, or are HyperCard-curious, I'd like to share an early build of my HyperCard player for modern macOS, "Stacks". It runs stacks natively: no emulator, sound (with MacinTalk speech synthesis!), period-accurate typography.
There's an in-app browser for the Internet Archive's HyperCard collection, so you can explore thousands of stacks and run them with one click.
Still early days with rough edges, but I'm having fun with it. Please report bugs!

Partial eclipse from Germany. Really happy with how this shot turned out. Taken with an Acuter Elite Phoenix 40 and a ToupTek G3M678M.

@DeanFarrell @franklinlopez may I ask his name? I also knew a person growing up who worked for it who sorta lost it after finding out what exactly he had been working on and became a reclusive poet, his name was Bern Porter
Really glad that my instinctual response mechanisms are in good shape I just fell off my skateboard face first trying to skate over cobblestone but managed to catch myself palms first and only slightly bonked my chin. I have long surpassed my 9 lives so whatever responses my subconscious takes is much appreciated.

Btw. I'm hiring. If you want to hack on test fixture mechanics, electronics, firmware, software, documentation, visit production lines, and just generally have a good time testing, provisioning and tracing hardware products, just ping me. I'm mainly looking for smart people that can program in Python and C/C++ in Zurich. It's not super complicated work, just gotta be diligent and pragmatic.
