Nope, not listening. I am using the increased friction as a reason for giving up and not using reddit at all.
Used Lemmy for a while but still browsed reddit logged out a bit. I noticd this recently so its only Lemmy now.

You post something in public, it is public. You post knowing others might do things you don’t like with it; that’s the bargain. Especially on social media.
And people act like I am strange for not wanting my fucking personal ID tied to every online account!

Yes. Plenty of manufacturers do sell computers without windows.

Every RAM stick I bought in the past 15 years is worth more per GB now than when I bought it… If you bought RAM in 2008 the same is true, I just didn’t buy RAM at that point.

Yeah you really should be asking how the fuck you send someone to prison with zero fucking evidence of them committing a crime.
Surely bare minimum is that several people in the legal system need to be losing their jobs over it. If not facing criminal negligence charges of their own.

Looked up some suggested uses as first projects and they sound so boring and useless. Smart home stuff, no thanks. Manage personal finances and budgets, don’t need tools for that let alone AI powered ones. Email, I don’t want to use email in the first place.
Using AI to complete bullshit work tasks that shouldn’t exist in the first place. Yep, I know that feeling very well.
Had loads in my last job. I could spend a few hours and struggle to fill in a few sentences for this bullshit form HR keep sending us, or I could ask ChatGPT to write the most obviously generic corpospeak crap that for some reason people like and are even impressed when I say that I used AI for it.

What do they use them for? I have played with it a little out of curiosity, even got an LLM running on my phone until it got stuck in an endless loop spewing nonsense. Not touched agents yet.
I haven’t really found much use for LLMs yet beyond rewording or summarising text and even that is rarely worth the effort of loading it up.

If its public domain couldn’t anyone else with a copy make it freely available

Oats, enough water to form a dough. Maybe some salt.
Tempted to try using an oat sourdough starter though.

At this point I’ll gladly bake oat bannocks over the burning ruins of the US economy to survive.
