I’ve read through just out of curiosity. The severance package is:

  • 16 weeks of pay
  • 1 week of pay for every year worked at the company
  • healthcare insurance until the end of the year
  • 1500$ to buy a laptop

Is this common in the US? This really feels like nothing. I do not know whether there are other remunerations funded by the government, but 4 months of pay after being laid off really is not very much.

Is this company paying out a very small sum to their employees or is it common to give very little money to fired people?
