@Mellivora i mean, there's already a 'smaller piece of code that you can review and merge independently', it's called 'commit'. I guess if people make bad commits, this can be alright, but just find it confusing.

these scene repacks do the weirdest stuff for compression. they actually decompress already compressed game data, then recompress it with a different algo. this has to be undone at unpack time, so you actually have to re-encode a whole bunch of files with random encoders from game library companies.
