@lain people seem to think that the way software was, up to before AI was a mainstream thing, much better than it actually was. I've had to deal with a myriad of weird ass bugs even from paid developers. And things with reported bugs that never got fixed.

@mischievoustomato yeah, it's not like the state of software was in some kind of perfect state, then AI came along and now every thing sucks. I know people still don't believe it, but LLMs generally write much better software than the average human dev, at least if you give them some basic guardrails.
I understood why people did not believe that only just 18 months ago. It was very much Not Good ™️

@tyler @mischievoustomato yeah, if you looked at it even a year ago, it was useful but not great, now you can indeed just tell it to write new software, make no mistakes, and it will generally do it.
